French-born
photographer Michel Friang has been taking photographs all
over the world for the past twenty years. Self-taught and
trained, Michel first took interest in photography while
on a trip to India in his late twenties. Captivated by the
exotic colors and sights around him, Michel decided to create
a photo essay of his trip. Now he has photo essays from many
parts of the globe, including a series on spring festivals
in Japan, tango dancing in Argentina, and various parades
and celebrations throughout America.
Michel is currently based in New York, and when not traveling
he works on a variety of projects which include interior
design photography, lifestyle and portrait shoots, and runs
his stock photo library. His work has been shown in various
publications such as Time Life "Titanic" book, Travel
Holiday Magazine, Diversion Magazine, World & I Magazine
and Artful Home Magazine.
Occasionally Michel teaches portfolio photography at The
New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan. Examples
of his travel work, interiors, and stock photography are
available online, or by contacting Michel directly.
